Corporate Social Responsibility

Activities & Programs

The Contact Center and BPO industry is one of those with the greatest potential for development in our country, promoting economic growth and professional employment opportunities, a good work environment, education and other important contributions to society.

The companies affiliated with our cluster are motivated towards excellence, since our existence depends on customer satisfaction. We constantly invest in best practices to meet our customers’ expectations. Those efforts not only improve our services, but also develop our staff.

Most of the significant companies in the sector have programs focused on the needs of the families of their employees. Many companies have formal Corporate Social Responsibility programs to help those most in need in communities through activities, foundations, donations, and support.

Here are some examples of such member activities and programs:

Corporate Social Responsibility Program of UNO Call Center

UNO Call Center internally created a social responsibility program with the aim of contributing to the community, while creating awareness of social issues among our employees, with the expectation of contributing not only to the development of the community that surrounds them, but also to develop a culture of solidarity and generosity in their work teams.

The program is structured in such a way that all employees interested in volunteer actions can submit to HR the request to support a specific activity in Santiago or the region where they are interested in having an impact. Once the proposal is approved, UNO works together with the originators on an internal promotion strategy, which makes the situation known in order to achieve greater participation, while helping with the logistics of said contribution.

They have previously participated in different initiatives, such as:

  • Donation of school supplies to public schools in low-income areas.
  • Christmas celebration and donation of toys to different foundations that work with underprivileged children, such as CONANI (government institution that works with orphans), “Toys for a smile” and “Youth giving away smiles” (both NGOs).
  • Monetary contribution and participation in the march to support “Voluntariado Jesús con los niños”, an NGO that assists low-income families who have children with cancer.
  • Participation in the cleaning of the Gurabo River (Santiago) together with other associations.
  • Participation in marches and activities against violence sponsored, among others, by the José Delio Clase Foundation.
  • Monetary contribution to the Acción Callejera program, an NGO dedicated to the technical training of young people from low-income communities.

Corporate Social Responsibility Program of Synergies Corp

Since its inception, Synergies has cared about the communities around it. In 2011, the Synergies Cares Foundation was established, with the priority of investing in various communities in the city of Santiago and with the objective of improving the quality of education and the standard of living of low-income youth. Today, Synergies has become the main contributor to Ciudad Santa María, a Catholic Community Education Center instructing around 1,700 young people with a higher bilingual public education. In addition, Synergies participates in and is the main sponsor of the annual “Corazones de Navidad” production and event in Santiago during the Christmas season.

The Synergies Cares Foundation currently has the following initiatives:

It demonstrates Synergies’ commitment to the community and its willingness to work for the development of those most in need. The goal of the Volunteer Program is to help provide employment opportunities to change the lives of children through monetary and non-monetary donations. For example: construction and repair of buildings, support/training for teachers, painting of houses in the community and donation of books, among others.

It seeks to transform what was initially a public school with 150 students, to a model, bilingual public school, the first in the country, with approximately 1,700 students, transforming La Otra Banda into an exemplary community.

It is an annual show, in favor of the Ciudad Santa María Educational and Community Center (CISAMA), for the enjoyment of Christmas in the city of Santiago offering healthy fun for the whole family, with a program of artistic shows, float parades, games and many other attractions that are framed in a magical setting of lights, music and colour. It has become a highly anticipated event in the city.

The Synergies Cares Foundation, together with other private institutions, have invested in the Centro Dominico Americano (CCDA) to relaunch the institution. The renovations were carried out in conjunction with the English Immersion Program, an initiative supported by the United States Department of State, which provides English language skills to young and talented people between the ages of 17 and 25, with a disadvantaged economic background. The goal of this immersion program is to graduate 240 English-speaking students a year, giving them the opportunity to enter the job market.

The Synergies Cares Foundation has donated a primary care clinic for the communities of La Otra Banda and Villa Liberación. This center provides access to medical care, preventive medicine and health programs to the community.

It offers scholarships to exemplary students (including employees, children of employees and honor students of Ciudad Santa María) so that they have access to higher education studies. Currently, the foundation has 13 students with scholarships from the PUCMM University who are studying Computer Science, Education and Architecture.

Corporate Social Responsibility Program of Teleperformance Dominicana

Teleperformance is the world leader in omnichannel customer experience management. In the Dominican Republic, they operate as a center of excellence since 2012 with an employment of more than 1,500 employees. As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility program, they carry out the following actions:

  • Reforestation Days: Every year, they carry out a reforestation day through their global initiative in favor of sustainability, in conjunction with the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources. They invite their collaborators to donate part of their free time in volunteer hours to give back to the planet a little of how much it gives us.

  • Toy Collection Campaigns and School Supplies: Globally, they have recurring social responsibility programs, through which they approach local organizations to offer help in service of the needs of each institution. For 3 years, they have worked hand in hand with Aldeas Infantiles SOS-RD through donation days to bring toys and school supplies to the population of the villages. In addition to this, they carry awareness campaigns that motivate the population to actively participate in these initiatives.

Corporate Social Responsibility Program of ERC

At ERC, one of their institutional goals is to minimize their environmental impact and give back to the community some of what they have been given. They are committed to promoting the social and economic growth of Santo Domingo and the entire Dominican Republic, involving their workforce so that they feel motivated to develop a sense of selfless volunteering through the different Social Responsibility programs that they carry out. .

In recent years they have developed their Social Responsibility programs through ERC City and ERC Cares, carrying out the following actions:

  • Offer your employees the opportunity to connect and help less affluent communities.
  • Sponsor the Pasitos de Jesús Orphanage in Boca Chica, providing food, clothing, toys, school supplies and personal hygiene items to each child living in that home. As well as other supplies that the home needs to operate efficiently. Every three months a group of volunteers, ERC collaborators, visit the Orphanage to share quality time with the children and take them to fun places that would otherwise be inaccessible to them.
  • Organize an annual activity to bring toys to more than 3,000 children across the country. Part of the donation comes from its employees, who are wholeheartedly committed to this cause. The other part is donated by ERC.
  • Organize a Thanksgiving dinner every year in various communities, including the “Cristo Salva” Rehabilitation Center.
  • Carry out a sterilization program for more than 50 stray dogs in the Cristo Rey sector together with other NGOs.
  • Promote an exhibition of B.M.L (Body, Mind and Life) to motivate your employees to lead balanced and healthy lives.
